In the field of conformity assessment, objectivity and transparency are core elements to ensure the credibility and value of the certificates issued to clients. GIC Vietnam is committed to fully implementing the requirements to ensure objectivity at all levels and functional areas of its operations, aiming to maintain and enhance objectivity in its strategies, policies, evaluation processes, and certification decisions.1. GIC Vietnam ensures objectivity in certification activities at all levels and functions, including: Strategic planning and formulation of certification policies; Evaluation processes; Certification decisions.
2. Ensuring objectivity at the strategic and policy level
a) GIC Vietnam has established and maintains the GIC Vietnam Certification Council, which includes representatives of interested parties, to guide and supervise certification activities, ensuring that decisions are made on a fair and objective basis.
b) The Certification Council typically consists of representatives from: Relevant government regulatory agencies; Consulting organizations or experts in the field of conformity assessment; Certified clients; Beneficiaries of certification and GIC Vietnam.
c) The Certification Council participates in the development of documentation and procedures related to certification activities, including: General certification regulations; Assessment procedures; Certification decision processes; Complaint procedures and Standards for assessors.
3. Ensuring objectivity during the evaluation process
a) All assessors, including technical experts, must disclose any relationships with the assessed party to identify and eliminate any potential conflicts of interest or bias in the certification process.
b) GIC Vietnam does not use assessors who have provided consulting services to the assessed client to ensure transparency and objectivity.
4. Ensuring objectivity at the certification decision level
a) The Certification Manager at GIC Vietnam is authorized to review and decide on certification for clients who meet all certification requirements. The Certification Manager does not participate in the evaluation process.
b) If the Certification Manager has been involved in the evaluation, the Director of GIC Vietnam will replace them to review and make the certification decision, ensuring absolute objectivity.
