1. The GIC Vietnam Certification Council is established with members from government authorities, experts in management systems and product quality, representatives of organizations/companies implementing management systems, product certification, and other relevant stakeholders.
2. The Certification Council functions to provide guidance and oversight to ensure impartiality in the assessment, product certification, and management system certification activities of GIC Vietnam.
3. Duties and powers of the Certification Council: To provide input and approve the direction and policies for implementing GIC Vietnam's certification activities; to approve the General Regulations on product and management system certification of GIC Vietnam; to review assessment and certification documentation for organizations and businesses; to direct the resolution of complaints related to the certification assessment process; to monitor, supervise, and provide recommendations for GIC Vietnam to improve and enhance the quality of certification assessment activities.
4. Organizational structure of the Certification Council: The GIC Vietnam Certification Council consists of: a Chairperson and one Vice-Chairperson elected by the Council Members; Council members; and a Council Secretary.
5. Working methods of the Council: The GIC Vietnam Certification Council holds regular meetings once a year, with the Chairperson calling extraordinary meetings as needed. Council meetings require at least two-thirds of the total members to be present. The Council operates by discussion, feedback, and voting on its decisions, with at least two-thirds of the members' approval required to pass decisions.
